Weekly Wellness Challenge
When we mix micro-tasks with projects and “someday,” working memory gets saturated and rumination spikes. Separating Today / Projects / Freezer frees mental RAM and brings focus back. Goal: keep today’s essentials visible and everything else contained (but off your sightline).

Science Spotlight
External offload: writing to-dos reduces errors and frees attention.
Chunking: grouping by meaning (planes) improves recall and execution.
Attentional boundaries: deciding now what belongs to today vs. project prevents mental residue.
First visible action: define the first physical step and the start becomes automatic.

Train
Guided Practice (10 minutes)
“Brain Sweep: 3 Planes”
Prep (30 s)
Open a blank page titled Clarity Map — [date] (paper/Notion/Keep).
Plane 1 · TODAY (4 min)
List max 4 labels (1–2 words): “Q3 Report,” “Call Ana,” “UX wire.”
Under #1, write the first physical step (e.g., “open /report folder and list sections”).
Anything not for TODAY → don’t delete it, move it to the other planes.
Plane 2 · PROJECTS (4 min)
Create 3–7 buckets (Project A/B/C…).
For each, define the next milestone in one line (e.g., “draft 1–2,” “internal demo”).
Add a link or file location.
Plane 3 · FREEZER (1 min)
Someday/idea bullets.
Rule: don’t open during the workday.
Close (30 s)
Circle your First Action of the Day. Full-screen that document and Do Not Disturb 50’.

Habit
Micro-habit of the week
Before opening email or chat, write one line with a verb + outcome for your first block (e.g., “Draft the report intro”). Then work 2 minutes without evaluating. The body starts; the mind follows.
Bonus
Geek Corner
Stack with NeurOptimal®:
Option A (pre-sweep): 5’ of 4:6 breathing → NeurOptimal® (33’) → Brain Sweep 10’.
Option B (post-sweep): Brain Sweep 10’ → NeurOptimal® → 3-2-1 Deep Work block (50’).
Watch for less rumination and a smoother launch into the block.
Express template: three fixed headers (TODAY / PROJECTS / FREEZER) with a mobile shortcut.
Anti-noise rule: TODAY ≤ 4 labels; if a fifth appears, move one to PROJECTS.
Share
Wellness for all!

Share your four TODAY labels and your First Action. I’ll reply with a micro-tweak (execution order or step sizing) tailored to you.
Forward this to someone with “everything mixed together,”!
Thanks for gifting yourself these minutes of presence.
May your week bring kind clarity and steps that almost do themselves. Next Tuesday: “If/Then Intentions 2.0 — Automate the Start.” Until then, keep observing your mind kindly and let science walk beside you.
Neural hugs,
